True love between two people is something both precious and natural. For this reason, many couples choose to symbolise their love with one of the precious nature-inspired engagement rings in the Cape Diamonds Fynbos Collection, flower rings designed to resemble the flora endemic to the Cape region. The floral setting of the Water Lily Solitaire Engagement Ring looks like the striking shape of the Cape Blue Water Lily (Nymphaea capensis), which rises in splendour from shallow water’s edges. The flowers, which can be seen from mid-spring through summer, can reach 15cm to 20cm in diameter. They close and night and open by day. The Nile was the original habitat for water lilies and their beauty was famously revered by the Ancient Egyptians. In stone carvings and paintings, water lilies were often shown in celebratory scenes – making this a fitting flower to mark your romantic celebration. This engagement ring is classic, in that it’s a solitaire. But the unique shapes of the star-like flower setting add contemporary chic. Along the rose-gold band on either side of the round-cut diamond, pavé side stones add extra shine and brilliance. The result is a unique ring that will stand out on your hand as much as the Cape Blue Water Lily does in nature.
