For a modern spin on swirl or twist designs, wrap-around engagement rings are eye-catching and unique. As their name suggests, these rings wrap around your finger. Some designs wrap completely around, with multiple, complex bands meeting in the middle. Others wrap around a few times without meeting in the middle, instead using stones at each end. Details such as pave stones, small cluster diamonds, organic elements, bezel settings, and traditional claw settings allow you to add more individuality without the need for a large stone. The result is a ring that truly sparkles. In this guide, we’re sharing some designs to help you see whether wrap-around rings are a good choice for your engagement ring.
Gorgeous Wrap Around Engagement Rings
Here are just a few examples of stunning wrap-around engagement rings to give you some inspiration.
Bezel Pave

Pave diamonds are a great way to add sparkle to your ring without having to spend a lot on larger-sized diamonds. They also accentuate the overall design of your ring. In this design, classic pave stones are set along the wrapped white gold band, with bezel diamonds added at each end. Bezel diamonds are a good option if you want a setting that does not easily catch on fabric, as the stones are set into the metal without prongs. This ring would work in metal but the cool tones of white gold or platinum look especially lovely.
Chunky Cluster

Cluster rings remain a popular choice, for a good reason. Thanks to their versatility, they can be used on a variety of ring styles. From minimal rings with a few small diamonds in different shapes to a larger ring such as this chunky cluster ring, you have a lot of options when deciding how to position your stones. These rings are also great if you want to use smaller stones rather than a single large diamond. You can mix things up by combing coloured and white diamonds or add your favourite gemstone for a bolder look.
Rose Pave

There is no beating an elegant, simple pave ring. In wrap-around styles such as this ring, tiny pave stones run along the wrapped band. The base of the ring features a thicker band tying the three strands together, while the end of the top band curves out to add visual detail. This ring is perfect if prefer minimal simple band styles rather than traditional styles that feature larger stones.
Five Band

In this ring, five bands loop around from the base of the ring. None of the bands meet. Instead, they sit on the top of your finger, just crossing one another to wrap further around. Alternating pave and solid bands and small diamonds set at the ends of each band make this ring elegant without being overly bold.
Criss-Cross

If bold is what you’re going for, on the other hand, this ring will be just right. Multiple strands of pave bands set on a band form a criss-cross design. The result is a complex ring that catches the light (and turns heads). This ring works well with any metal, including yellow gold, rose gold, white gold or platinum. You can add even more drama by replacing some of the strands of pave stones with coloured diamonds or your favourite gemstones rather than diamonds.
Two Stone

Two stone rings are romantic, symbolising the close bond of your love. There are many, many variations of this ring. In a wrap-around design, using two stones on a band that wraps around the stones highlights the stones subtly. A plain band in platinum will add to the subtle effect, but you could also consider making one part of the band pave if you’re looking for some added sparkle.
Delicate Sapphire

Although diamonds will forever remain the top choice for engagement rings, you don’t have to be limited to this stone. Using precious gems such as sapphires can make your ring unique. In this design, a tiny sapphire sits on the end of a delicately wrapped band. A diamond, emerald, ruby or any other stone would look equally lovely. The band is plain gold, however, you could add pave detail along the top if you want to add to the overall style of the ring.
Leafy Vines

Organic rings bring to mind flowers, leaves and nature. If you prefer your rings to be less conventional and more boho-inspired, this ring will be perfect. Delicate strands of plain and pave-encrusted rose gold bands wrap around the ring, with tiny pave leaves meeting in the centre. The result is a whimsical ring that captures your free spirit perfectly. For more organic ring ideas, view our nature-inspired collection.
